Bihar: Politically Deprived???

I happened to read an article, which really irked me. Last post was about Maya, and her statues, this one is about, Mamta and her tantrums. Here is the article

Perhaps very few people may remember that the first IIT got shifted to Kharagpur in West Bengal from the proposed location in Bihar because Dr. BC Roy wished so. Dr. Roy got it as he was nearer to Nehru than Shribabu of Bihar.

A news report reminded me of the above historical fact. The news is shocking for Bihar. Many in Bihar might have political animosity and differences with Lalu. However, Lalu as railway minister in last UPA government got two huge railway projects with investments of around Rs 30,000 crore— a diesel locomotive factory at Chhapra and an electric locomotive factory at Madhepura. It would have brought prosperity for the common people in the region. Siemens AG and US-based conglomerate General Electric Co. (GE) were expected to execute the two projects. If properly executed, the projects could have resulted in number of manufacturing clusters for various categories of components.

According to many reports in media, the new railway ministry, under a new head is considering to shift the projects to West Bengal. Mamata with eye on the next assembly election may do that without going for any rationale or ethics that are always the causalities in political decisions.
But should the projects be shifted with change in the government and ministers? Should not Man Mohan Singh or Sonia Gandhi stop Mamata from doing this injustice to the people of Bihar? And naturally, the next question is to be answered by the representatives and, if necessary the people of Bihar? Will they allow it to happen? Would not Nitish Kumar protest forcefully?

It is unfortunate that in last 62 years that have seen a large contingent of eminent persons from Bihar holding the charge of various ministries in central cabinet ministers, but hardly any, be it Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Jagjivan Ram or her daughter Meira, LN Misra, or even Nitish could bring in some projects of significance for the Bihar. Were they afraid of getting bad name for showing regional interest or too busy in their own selfish interests? Did they lack the missionary zeal or right knowledge to take the state ahead in competition? Did not the state and its people suffer for their ineffectiveness and inefficiencies?

And finally in an appeal to Lalu, I request him to have his street protests in Delhi or Kolkata to get the transfer of the projects stopped.

If not the politicians the people and student community of Bihar must take up this issue united and forcefully, and prove that they can launch some useful movements too.

Chinese go, INDIA bashing

Official mouthpiece of Chinese Establishment, are on India Bashing spree. According to them, India is trying to show off its military capability. Moreover, they go as far as to say, that they want to co-exist with India, and the desire isn't born out of fear. And India, can never compete with China.

Heck, its not about competition....its not about co-existence. Its pretty simple. Return our land, Mr. Hu-Jintao. And ofcourse yes, co-exist is a virtue which communist China lacked throughout. How could we forget the 1962 misadventure of yours, when we were just 15 year old, and in a bad shape. You can never give up. Regarding competing with you, we really don't want to....but, lest you forget, more than 60% of your population is in mid 30s and 40s. While more than 60%of ours around 20s. You can judge better, Chowmeins! We are not, goddamn, third class Chinese Quality products.

But of course, we have a lot to learn from China.....! The nationalistic fervour deeply rooted amongst its men. And the art of mass-production.

And yeah.... Our IAF chief says, that China is much bigger threat to India, than Pakistan

De-Stressing Education

King of Pop, Michael Jackson Dies. History will never be same again. Fans Stunned!

Delhi reeling under acute power shortage. Major posh areas face blackout, for 10-12 hours. No water, No electricity. And scorching Sun. Delhites and Indians have a tough time this summer.

But the news that surprises me, the most is the much anticipated move to do away with 10th Board examination. Well, most of the students and parents are happy. But I firmly believe, 10th Board Exams should not be abolished. We all have already de-traumatized elementary education. Now, there is a counsellor in every private school, atleast. And this is the place, where most students gets stressed. We have put in easier formats of question paper. Given extra 15 mins for going through the question paper. Most of the questions, nowadays, are objective.

And CBSE, India's largest education board's syllabus is already the most easiest in the country. It has just the elementary, and basic things. Very much unlike ICSE, and IGCSE, and other state boards. Now, if this can create stress for any child. Let the child get stressed, so that he learns to stretches himself. Afterall, he must be around 15. He has to get acquainted with life.

Quite a number of us, who have studies through ICSE medium, where syllabus and exams, both are quite comprehensive, never felt much the stress. Just half an hour of regular study through out the year is good enough to get above 90%. And if a student can't study that much even, he should fail to pass again, to get the basics right again. Few people give the lame excuse of education being a mugging up business. Well, we need that at elementary level, combined with practical. Its only the higher education, where it should be done away with it entirely. I have been teaching students, for quite sometime now. Believe me, they do not study at all, even in this scenario. They all have PSP/XBOX, movies, internet, girl-friends and boy-friends in 7th std...if they all can bear stress of heartbreak at that age....so why not studies.

Elementary Education system has always been an inherent strength of India. Whereas, majority of them, even when they go to Universities abroad, they are taken as strengths...this has been due to the strong testing system.

I fondly remember, in my alma mater, in 10th std. first semester exams, just 3 of us passed in Physics, out of 60-odd students. And in Boards, none of us scored below 70. Infact, we all passed with 1st divison, and most of them, scoring above 80%.
And except for me, most of them have been selected for IIT's, NIT's, some best UNIVERSITIES abroad, India's best LAW and Management school. I strongly feel, this is all due to the strictness in education system, shown by our teachers. Mr. Martin, Mr. Cowell, Mr. Kim....!

Mr. Sibal, we are just going to get them more stressed, when all of a sudden in 12th std, they face Boards, entrance exams, that too the most toughest one. They would not be prepared to face everything at one go! WOuldn't it break them down, then????

How to waste Tax-Payer’s money!!!

I have lived in Ghaziabad, one of the most prominent city of UP for 5 years. In the city, a metropolitan city, you have upto 16-18 hours power cut at times, no basic amenities in most part of the city, no proper roads, no rules and authority to swear by. You could well imagine the condition of other parts of the state. And here we have the Maya of Ms. Mayawati…..

She is not talking about law, education, agriculture, health care, crime. The state, according to her, is reeling under financial shortage. Its altogether a different matter, that from being a poor pooper she is now multi billionaire herself. She is one of the highest individual tax-payers of the state. But State has enough money to spend on her whims and fancies, to the tunes of multi-billions. During her rule, in previous governments she has already built parks and memorials in KashiRam’s name, and hold your breath, her own name as well. We all know about her birthday parties and cakes. Now, wtf is this….

Jeans & Diktat....

Wearing Jeans for female student, male student as well as teacher was banned in Kanpur and other colleges of UP. See here

But later on, it was revoked, being termed as unlawful.

Well, I don't think maker of the Jeans would have envisaged so much. Read the history of Jeans here.

And thousands of miles away in France, Sarkozy has banned Hijab
and many places elsewhere, turban has been banned....

I think we should ban the clothing, any, at all on campus or anywhere. Lets get a nudist world...!
There will be no bans, and no protest!
